Mining and Tunneling videos.
The main idea is to educate people who are interested or new to the mining/tunneling industry.
Tutorials and walkthroughs with many different mining jobs, or just being able to see what actually goes on underground. Many mining terms are almost a foreign language to someone who has never seen or experienced underground life.
Even if you are experienced I hope to be able to provide some tricks of the trade that we can all use to help make our jobs better.
My work motto is - Safely .Quality. Efficiency in that order.

This was the first round taken to start a slot for a long hole drill. There were a lot of questions about what exactly was going on in "3 day cycle" video, I thought it would be good to go through the video in parts and explain a little bit about what's going on. Great videos!
You'd think that things were the same all round but your bag is different from the DAMOS stuff we use in Western Australia - we don't have no hoops in the bag here. And you run your catenary wire different too - we normally tension it up by spinning a stubbie bolt in it and securing it with a couple of minsup clips, or in the old days an L Pin - you've got that flash looking plastic coated thing to do it for you - neat. Do some more video's you old hack - congrats on the 20 years thing ya old dawg!
We used to use a stubby bolt but they need the minsup clips or some guys even use tape to keep them from unspinnibg . The plastic looking thing is coated in rubber and electricians use it to hang cable and clip nicely into the mesh. I plan on making some videos but as a trainer for the orange OEM typically it's other guys who are learning on the controls.

I've ran a 100 hp slusher, In a iron ore mine. We had a lot of them on each level.LONG HOLE DRILLER.
Put some teeth on that bucket.
Ya that was like 20 years ago lol. Teeth would have been nice but not highest priority

Que pasa si te atasca el barreno en un taladro ?
I won’t let that happen
U guys use screen pusher or just the good old wrench in the chuck
Ya wrench in the chuck is usually all we have available..or I'll just use a longer steel and not bother pushing screen at all
Помню как работал с перфоратором😊спасибо.
Thanks for sharing
All I have to show for using one of these is a bad case of white hand
Gotta get the thick orange monkey grips. Also I try to not hold it as much as possible 😆
I’m excited to learn the jack leg. I volunteer at a mine when I have the free time for an older gentleman and he’s teaching me the ropes. Next time go in is jackleg time
Have fun and don't be afraid to get wet
Fantastic videos and narration! We should connect as my company is building some phenomenal tech to improve efficiencies and safety of these headings.

Just an odd question but I drill sidewinders with booms and steel facing the cab instead of up and down. So my question it how do u put both booms in the cut? Should add tho that I’m using a 282 atlas copco any feed back is appreciated! Thanks In advanced
That trick works for most jumbos . 282 is the same method .

Swap the booms for the cut . Take the bottom boom and put it on top and the top boom and put it on the bottom so the drill steel of each boom is very close and right ontop of each other .
Ahhh ok I had thoughts of doing it never tried it yet but is there any issues with stinger pads being to close?
@ScottHooker-nm3mp depends how tight you want the cut. Usually I’ll use the stinger pads to help measure the burden. Typically you will be drilling 43-38mm bits. Can afford to have your cut spread out more then old jack leg cut . For some reason the pads are to big you can just drill different holes at different times and they can still both be on the cut drilling at the same time
Hmmmm very true I’m gonna try what u said swap the booms… has to be better then one boom drilling the whole cut!
@@ScottHooker-nm3mp absolutely I hate watching 1 boom idle
What mine are you at I work at Creighton mine as a beat mechanic
I travel around Canada helping the less fortunate.
Should always put your screen first that way you won’t get kloberd
I agree.
Just as the nut cracked too. Lol, at least your using canun

Que modelo es ?
DS 411
De que mina es y la ciudad ? Por favor.
Buen video. Me interesa más los vídeo del ds411 el boltec pernador.
Can you please teach me how to connect the machine
Air in the top water in the bottom 🤷♂️
Buenas tardes. Excelente. Tienes mas cideos. Me interesa. Opero boktec y proximo llegara un sanvick a la empresa. Me gustaria ver mas. Ya que en youtube es poco lo que hay de este modelo. Por ejemplo operar dentro de la cabina sobre las funciones de los joytick y demas
I have some videos that show inside the cab. What model # are you getting ?
Excelentes videos, gracias por compartir tus experiencias y asi aprendo mi ingles minero, Muchos saludos desde Perú.
Wombat much quicker
what's a wombat? Keep in mind I don't get a choice of what gear I run . I just use what the company has lol
Slow progress how much advance 24hours .howhigh is the coal is it long wall or boared and pillar 😊
Not coal at all. 8.5x8.5 in most areas. Some.larger some smaller This is a hydro tunnel no coal in site
Im a jumbo operator from Ghana but i use a single boom jumbo without screens. I wiuld love to use your machine one day. I use the DM801HDE from SANDVIC. Im impreesed wacthing you 😊
Why don't you have any outsider to help you check your patterns? 8:37
we are spread very thin. We have no offsiders or help. One man show
Do you with water or just air?
Both
@@JoryDionI work for a shoring company, we're currently doing 3.3 meter holes on a 15° downwards angle. If I'm correct a jack leg is designed for flat drilling or upwards correct? 😅 It's literally killing my body doing this.
@@mitchellmacdonald6897 no we do -15 or more even. For some help you can drill a steel straight down and then chain your foot to it. Then use the air leg retract button to help pull the machine out. Or use a steel ladder

2 guys on a scissor deck with a few stopers is way faster IMO. Although I would much rather run a maclean lol.
Expierenced MacLean operator will be drinking coffee and napping before you finish with 2 guys on a deck
We used to do this in the 50s and 60s. In some parts they still do. We dont use winches for cleaning anymore
Ya this is pritty old school for sure
Recommend as a job?
Ugh. I've never been much of a hand at putting up vent but I'll tell you what I'm amazingly good at catching it on a boom or the roof of the cab and tearing it down. We all have our gifts :-)
This is the best comment 😆
Glad to see you posting again! We've missed your underground adventures!
Just old stuff I have recorded now from ages ago that I never released
What mine are you working at ? In Ontario ? I want to work at a mine like yours that lets you get away with this kinda jackpot work
Lol this is really old. Jackpot work isn't good
This is why some people say “slusher knots don’t work” haha
I wanna see a stope mucking full cycle Jory … thank you
That would be a cool time lapse. I haven't been to involved in any producttion
You've become one very skilled miner, I dare say you could get hired anywhere.
Thank you
I applied for this position and here I am watching how to operate machines 👍🏻💯
Не по русски плохо эта сетка барохло
Makes me wonder some times those high ballers. One drill going. Lift the deck
There was 2 drills going ....it's not that high 🤷🏼♂️ and the railings where in the way so we couldn't be that high on the deck or angle of leg hits the railing
😢😢😢
dont cry all in good fun
This popped up on the top of my RUclips feed and before I fully read it I thought it said “bolting with dd422” when are we getting that Jory?
I’d love to . Will have to wait and see
What is the brand of the machine (drilling machine), the model and where the technical sheet can be obtained?
This is a canun rock drill. Check their website
Just before u get to your dump car hold it wide open forward till u come to a stop then reverse then full forward while your dumping your bucket u won't have to come to a stop and by the time u dump you'll be going forward saves time
I think we lackes air volume at this mine . I always pined it until slamming into the car go help with momentum . Then full forward as the bucket was throwing the muck. To do a direction change before dumping I think I would loose all my momentum and dump my muck onto my bucket cable
@JoryDion wish I had my video still don't forget the oil in the base and wet down your rail a bit
@@DarthDinos always oiled, always wet 😉
Dude, nice video. But I blown away that you guys are allowed to go under the unsupported ground. I’ve driven probably 10 miles of ramp, lateral drives, raise, shaft, etc. and I’ve never seen crews actually allowed to go under unbolted ground in a jumbo heading to do the prep work and bolt installation that is show in this video. The only time ive seen it part of the process is in raise mining and some jack leg sub drifting. Where is this video being shot? Nice drilling FYI.. lol
It was weird for us at first to. The shotcrete is considered ground support and the bolts are just extra. There was no screen used at all in this project.
Is it common practice to stand beside the boom while shotcreteing as seen in this video we just had a guy die at the mine I work at when he allegedly fell and hit the controls in a way during the fall that caused the boom to crush him, the remote was pinned under him and the boom so they could not get it off him quickly
